LES GRAY - saxophone
“After a lifetime search for soulmates in music, this band has come together for me and provided the muse to express my songwriting vision. The P.G.C.
continues to write and has started compiling new original material for our next CD.”
CHRISTIAN BOTTO
- guitar
“It all began in 1987 in Pacifica, CA, when I bought my first electric guitar with money that I borrowed from my aunt. My single mother somehow
managed to finance 2-1/2 years of private instruction with a great guitar teacher who taught me to play everything from Jazz to Heavy Metal. It was
not until 1994 after my return to the US from my home in El Salvador that I found the musical sounds of Brazil and made this my primary focus on the
guitar that led to Jazz where I have remained committed. I am happiest on stage playing music with a great rhythm section or at home with my family
relaxing on the hammock.”
MICHAEL KORA
- drums
Michael is from Detroit, MI, where his love for Jazz began at age eight. Two college educations and many lessons later, he still is at his relaxed best when
creating original music. As a songwriter, arranger, electric piano composer, drummer and rhythm section junkie, Michael believes that there is nothing
more satisfying than a solid groove with open ears.
GRADY McKENZIE
- bass
Grady started his musical journey in Omaha, NE. First playing trombone and then adding bass guitar (and later acoustic upright bass), he started out
playing hard rock and country & western music. After entering college, he focused on learning jazz, solo, and orchestral music. Then Grady moved
to Houston, TX, where he played incessantly in the wedding reception circuit, and the Persian music scene as well, for 15 years. He then moved to the
Portland, OR area to acquire a degree in education. Grady has recently returned to playing music in a variety of musical settings that includes Bluegrass,
Rock, and Jazz.
MILLEDGE BENNETT
- percussion
“Like most percussionists, I have early childhood memories of a quest for loud noises, taps, rattles and assorted booms. These fond memories recall an
uncontrollable desire to play any and all available surfaces--much to the dismay of parents, siblings and pets.” Milledge divides his time between his
duties as an art and history professor, painter, Native American flute player and world beat percussionist. He has played in various ethic and Jazz groups
and ensembles in New Mexico, the San Francisco Bay area, Santa Cruz, CA, and Oregon. He has also performed in France and Japan.
